Hair Removal Tips For Men

These days more and more men are seeking to remove hair, not only from their face, but also from all over their body. Some men choose to do this for hygiene, others to show muscle definition, while others choose to do it purely for aesthetic reasons. There are many options of hair removal available, some more permanent than others. You can either choose to try these options at home or visit a professional.

Shaving

Shaving is recommended as the best way to remove hair from the face for men. It works by cutting the hair at skin level. The hair grows back quickly, and shaving needs to be done regularly. Because of this, men may seek other methods of hair removal if they want to rid themselves of hair from other parts of the body.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser treatments use laser light to penetrate the hair shaft. This is said to be permanent, but the hair can grow back, and it takes quite a few treatments to see results. Laser hair removal can also be a costly option. As it is a relatively new treatment the long-term effects of laser hair removal are not yet known.

Waxing

A more cost effective option is waxing. This removes the hair from the follicle and it can take from two to six weeks for the hair to grow back. Small areas, such as between the eyebrows, can be done at home, but for larger areas it is better to see a professional. Waxing can be painful but the pain doesn’t last long.

Electrolysis

Electrolysis uses a thin needle to penetrate individual hair shafts, and a tiny electric shock is sent down the needle to damage the cells so that the hair doesn’t grow back. Because it needs to be done to each individual hair it can be a time consuming process. It can also be quite painful. It can be very effective for small areas, like getting rid of hair between the eyebrows.

There are many methods for hair removal available for men. From shaving to the more complex procedures such as electrolysis and laser hair removal treatments, there is something to suit everyone and their pocket. There is no need to put up with unwanted body hair. More and more men are choosing to use the latest methods to remove unwanted hair from their face and body.
